What is Valentine Day

I always think what is valentine Day. When I was in school or college nobody celebrate or even all of us were not aware of this day. But suddenly in last decade or in the first decade of Christian calendar it becomes so popular that everybody is celebrating this. All I know about this day is that this Day is of love. This day celebrate the Love. Love for anyone, Love for Parents, Children, Spouse or lovers and some people celebrate this day with there pets. A day of expressing love.
But if this day is of love how can be it against our culture. A culture which strongly believe in love. If the definition or theory I believe then it can be never harm our culture but what I believe is not what other think so. For youngsters this day is for choosing new dates. And this thing goes against our culture. Today boys purpose many girls at same time for dating and vice versa. All of them are just want to enjoy the company of a girl or a boy to fulfill there desire. They do not try to make this relation in lifelong commitment. Dating is not our culture. We believe in lifelong committed love. But this day is just promoting dating. What is dating? Sorry I never understand this concept. It is far away from head. I can not go with any girl on any romantic tour whom I hardly know. But it is going on.
This day is a day to fulfill your lust instead of love. You are not choosing your life partner you are just choosing a date. If date is for making friends then what is romance is doing in this, and if there is romance or love in dating then why everybody is dating many girls or boys.
One anyone says this day is against our culture, all the stupid and Valentine day lover think that he is opposing just because it is an imported festival. But nobody wants to know why we are opposing this day. If this day was celebrated in the manner I was written earlier nobody oppose it but this day is celebrating in the way which is non acceptable for Indian society. Love and Lust both have different meanings.
